Increasing access to high quality early education is one of the primary evidence-based strategies for mitigating the impact of lead exposure in children. Flint Kids Learn, a supporting organization of the Community Foundation, was established to support increased access to high quality, year round early childhood education in Flint.
People who were impacted by the Flint Water Crisis will soon be able to participate in a voluntary secure registry which will aim to connect them to programs and other resources that serve to minimize the effects of lead on their health while promoting wellness and recovery. Enrollment into the registry will begin in fall of 2018, however pre-enroll now to get the most up-to-date information!
The Imagination Library offers a great opportunity for Flint parents to get free books for their children! Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library offers a program that sends a book each month to the home of each registered child (birth through five years of age) at no cost to the family.
